PIR is a novel organic polymer insulation material, a foam polymer produced by fully mixing, reacting, and foaming isocyanate and polyether as the main raw materials, along with catalysts, fire retardants, and environmentally friendly foaming agents, under specialized formulation and strict process conditions. Due to its independent closed-cell structure and high closed-cell ratio, the foam polymer has fine and uniform cells, excellent thermal insulation performance, and superior flame retardant properties, thus exhibiting excellent qualities in terms of thermal insulation, water permeability, adhesion, compressive strength, flame retardancy, and cold shrinkage. This high-tech organic polymer material boasts excellent fire resistance, low thermal conductivity, good water resistance, stable chemical properties, and good aging resistance, making it the optimal choice for thermal insulation polymers in cryogenic and general cooling environments. Its applicable insulation temperature range is -196°C to +120°C.

 

Polyisocyanate foam (PIR), as a novel cold and heat insulation material internationally, has already seen widespread application in developed European countries in fields such as petrochemical energy engineering, construction, and environmental protection and energy conservation. In my country, PIR is still in its early stages of development, with applications limited to gas and petrochemical sectors such as LNG (-165°C, liquefied natural gas) and liquid ethylene (-104°C).
